(J.J.C Mars rover will seek signs of life and collect samples for possible return to Earth)

Upgrading the rover

We started with a basic rover which consisted of 4 wheels and a camera on top, we decided to add 2 solar panels to the top of the rover so one could work through the entire day and the second could charge a battery for the rover to work through the night. initially, we decided that the rover would only work through the day but then we thought if we gave it a battery and a spotlight it could also work through the night.

The weight of the rover

We made the rover light compared to rovers from other companies so that it could move more with less power and once it began to store things in itself it could go up in weight and still be able through different terrains.

Storage

The rover has a robotic hand that can drop down out of the bottom of the rover and pick objects up from around. The rover has about 20 square meters of space inside of it to bring back fossils, rocks, plants, and liquids. Inside the rover, some components can move around to fit the size of something to its dimensions, these components will be secured and cushioned so that if jars of liquid are being stored they can move around more than expected without being damaged or damaging the rover.

Our journey

We plan to send our rover from Earth to Mars around the 1st of June of 2025 and arrive on Mars anytime from February to May in 2026. This is the estimated time of arrival because from Earth it can take from 6 to 12 months to arrive on Mars. The rover is going to arrive at the bottom of the Olympus Mons and it will explore the entire volcano and around it for around 6 months. The rover will then travel 5000 KM over to the Polar ice caps where it will explore the ice and water on Mars to bring back and be observed by scientists on Earth. The Rover will come back after 2 years on Mars and scientists from NASA, Space X, and Boeing will look through what the rover has arrived on Earth with to see if there is life on Mars, and if not can we make life on Mars?
